Sagi Golan saw "Tikkun Olam" (repairing the world) as a lifelong mission. His quiet, determined leadership accompanied him at every stage: as a teenager leading social projects in the LEAD organization, through a year of service in Bat Yam and outstanding service as an officer in the Lotar unit, and up to his work in hi-tech for economically distressed patients. Wherever he went, Sagi sought ways to contribute, improve, and lead. On October 7, Sagi fell as a hero in the battle for Kibbutz Be’eri, defending civilians with his body.

Sagi’s legacy is a testament to a life full of meaning and action. Even after his passing, he continues to drive change through the “Sagi Golan Law,” which created historic equality in Israeli society. In the spirit of his values, the fund bearing his name, Sagi Up, was established. The fund aims to support young entrepreneurs who, like him, choose to initiate and lead profound social change.

The fund operates on the belief that leadership exists everywhere and in every population, but the opportunity to break through is not always accessible. Through micro-grants for first steps, the fund will help turn social ideas into action on the ground, providing trust, backing, and tools to the next generation of Israeli leadership—diverse, committed, and principled leadership.
