Sagi Lookout

In the heart of the wild landscape of northeast Judean Desert, facing a breathtaking panoramic view (360 degrees), we are establishing the Sagi Observatory.

From the point, an ancient landscape unfolds including the Dead Sea, Masada cliffs, Edom mountains, and the buildings of the city of Arad. A monument named "Canopy of Equality" will be built on site to

commemorate the wedding that never was.

As well as a seating corner and exhibits combining educational content about the area and nature.

Join us to realize the dream and commemorate Sagi, right here - in the desert landscapes that Sagi loved so much.

Sagi Lookout

On October 7, 2023, Major Sagi Golan, an officer in the Lot"ar unit, jumped out of bed and rushed to the Gaza Envelope - Sagi and the team were among the first to join the fighting. After hours of combat in the battle at Be'eri, Sagi fell in battle during an encounter with terrorists, after managing to rescue families from hell.

Sagi wasn't just a fighter; he was a man of values. A man who loved this country with all his heart, a Zionist not just in heart - but also through his actions. He was a light in every room he entered, a person who always wanted to give without expecting anything in return. The one who would jump first when help was needed, and the one who always knew how to say the right word. Sagi was someone who volunteered everywhere, excelled at everything, and there wasn't a soul who didn't love him.

He was the best. Genuine. Without clichés.

This is how we chose Kipa 604 to become "Sagi Lookout"

Sagi fell two weeks before his wedding to his partner, Omer. The suits were already hanging in the closet, the flower designs were ready, and even the chuppah they designed themselves in Omer's father's framing shop was already prepared - the chuppah they never got to stand under.

The observatory will be established near Arad, in the landscape where Sagi and Omer were supposed to get married, against the Dead Sea backdrop that he loved so much, under the chuppah they designed together - a chuppah that will become the "Canopy of Equality" - a special connection point between Sagi and Omer's love of the desert and his vision for equality and human dignity, allowing every couple to find in the desert a moment of simplicity, love, and meaning.

A place where alongside the pain and memory, we choose life, love, equality - exactly as Sagi believed. A place where we can spread his light, the values he believed in, and who he was - to others too.
